Manish Sisodia: BJP plans to arrest me in ‘fake’ case, keep me out of Gujarat

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday (October 17) said he would be arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today as part of the ruling BJP’s “plan” to stop him from campaigning in Gujarat Assembly polls.

“I will go to jail and even sacrifice my life for my country,” Sisodia said.

Sisodia has been summoned by the CBI in the liquor policy case. He arrived at the CBI headquarters on Monday morning but before that, he said it was a “fake” case and the agency found nothing during the raid on his house.

“They are preparing to arrest me by making a completely fake case against me. I was to go to Gujarat for election campaign in the coming days. These people (BJP) are losing Gujarat badly. Their purpose is to stop me from going to Gujarat election campaign,” Sisodia tweeted in Hindi in a series of tweets.

“When I went to Gujarat, I told the people of Gujarat that we will build wonderful schools like Delhi for your children in Gujarat too. People are very happy. But these people do not want good schools to be built in Gujarat also, people of Gujarat should also study and progress,” he added.

In another tweet, he wrote, “But my going to jail will not stop the Gujarat election campaign. Today every Gujarati has stood up. Every child in Gujarat is now campaigning for good schools, hospitals, jobs, and electricity. The coming elections in Gujarat will be a movement.”

“A completely false case has been made against me. They raided my house, found nothing, looked at all my bank lockers, found nothing, went to my village and checked everything, found nothing. This case is completely fake,” he wrote.

On way to the CBI office, Sisodia held a roadshow and addressed AAP workers and his supporters. He also made a stop at Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial Raj Ghat.

The official Twitter handle of the AAP shared a video in which Sisodia is seen seeking the blessings of his mother before heading to the CBI office.
