Suryakumar fails

MI’s run chase depended on Suryakumar Yadav’s batting. However, he failed, scoring just 7 off 9. He tried to play a scoop shot off Yash Thakur but only managed to play the ball on his stumps. This was a massive wicket for LSG and Thakur could not hide his joy as he celebrated.

Points table

With this win, LSG moved to third in the standings with 15 points from 13 games. MI stay on 14, at fourth position, with a game in hand. MI need to beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Mumbai on Sunday (May 21) to keep their playoff chances alive as other results too would depend on their qualification even if they get to 16 points.
