Ahmedabad weather updates for CSK vs GT IPL 2023 final on reserve day

Cricket fans had to return disappointed on Sunday night (May 28) as rain played spoilsport in the IPL 2023 final between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Now, the IPL 2023 final will be played on the reserve day – Monday, and players, fans, and others involved with the match are hoping for the weather Gods to show mercy on Ahmedabad.

So what is the weather forecast for Ahmedabad for Monday evening? Here is the update.

According to The Weather Channel, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast light to moderate rains or thundershowers over isolated parts of Ahmedabad on Monday.

“In fact, a yellow watch has also been issued over the city for today so as to urge locals to ‘be updated’ about the weather,” it said in a tweet.

However, there is good news for cricket fans during the duration of the IPL 2023 final as chances of rain are 22 per cent.

As per weather.com, sunny skies are likely till noon, but it may get cloudy in the evening. After 6:30 PM, the skies will be mostly clear, with rain chances touching 22% later in the evening. Mostly, clear skies are expected — at least for the IPL match’s duration.

Coming back to the big final on Monday, CSK will be aiming to win the IPL trophy for a record-equalling fifth time while GT are eyeing for back-to-back silverware in their opening two seasons since joining the league last year.

It was exactly a year ago, May 29, 2022, that GT, under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, had won their maiden IPL title in their debut appearance at the Narendra Modi Stadium. They had beaten Rajasthan Royals (RR).
