Putin announced that, “following today’s meetings, we adopted a document to develop India-Russia economic cooperation,” signalling a formal step toward expanding bilateral efforts.

Highlighting market opportunities, he said Russian companies are prepared to broaden their imports from India. According to Putin, “Russian businesses are ready to increase purchases from India across a wide range of goods and services.”

He also sought to reassure participants from both nations, stating, “I want to assure the businesses that Russia will support all initiatives.” His remarks framed the forum as a platform for deeper commercial ties backed by government commitment.

At the India–Russia Business Forum in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the scale of the visiting Russian delegation and acknowledged the initiative behind its presence. He noted that discussions on a Free Trade Agreement between India and the Eurasian Economic Union “have begun,” signalling an interest in expanding economic cooperation.

Emphasising the basis of bilateral ties, Modi remarked that “be it business or diplomacy, the foundation of any partnership is mutual trust.” He said this trust is “the greatest strength of India-Russia relations,” adding that it “gives direction and momentum to our joint efforts.”
