Chelsea star player Eden Hazard signed a 5-year-contract with Real Madrid, confirmed the La Liga club in a statement on Friday (June 7).

Spanish media reports said that Real Madrid agreed to pay Chelsea 100 million euros for the forward, however, the club hasn’t announced any fee as yet. The player will be tied to the club for the next five seasons, until June 30 2024, after being released from Chelsea in June 2020.

Hazard recently guided the club to the Europa League title, scoring two goals in a 4-1 win over Arsenal in May 2019 in Baku.

The 28-year-old has proved to be an asset for the club by winning the Europa League in his first season and later clinching the Premier League title in 2015 and in 2017 as well as one League Cup and FA Cup. He even contributed 16 goals and passed another 15 in the Premier League this seasons pushing Chelsea to finish third in the table.

The Belgium international would be officially joining the club at Santiago Bernabeu stadium on June 13, subject to completing a medical.
