Ajinkya Rahane registers unique partnership record in Tests
Vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane supported Rohit Sharma’s run of form with his 115 off 192 balls which was also the right-handed batsman’s 20th partnership in Tests without ever being involved in a run out.
The day two of India’s third and final Test against South Africa was truly owned by opener Rohit Sharma breaking several records with his maiden Test double ton. However, there was another batsman who performed well enough to hold a unique record.

Rahane’s 61 Tests career records neither him nor his partner being run out which is also a world record at this moment.
India’s top-order was shocked by the Proteas pace attack as they fell for 39/3 on day one in Ranchi on Saturday (October 19).

Rahane and Rohit’s 267-run fourth-wicket stand changed the game in India’s favour.
Before falling for George Linde’s bowling, Rahane scored his 11th Test hundred which consisted of 17 boundaries and a six.
The hosts on day two on Sunday (October 20) reduced the visitors to nine for two wickets in their first innings before bad light called stumps for the day.
India which is leading the World Test Championship table are eyeing the home series whitewash to maintain their top spot.
South Africa on day three will return with skipper Faf du Plessis and Zubayr Hamza on the crease to chase the 498-run target on Monday (October 21).
