 Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Friday said his life is dedicated to the nation whether he is inside jail or outside jail.

The Enforcement Directorate on Friday produced Kejriwal in the Rouse Avenue court here and sought his 10-day custody in an excise policy-linked money laundering case. "My life is dedicated to the service of the nation whether I am inside or outside (jail)," Kejriwal told TV9 Network while he was being produced in the court. This was Kejriwal's first reaction after being arrested by the ED on Thursday night. The Aam Aadmi Party has called his arrest a "political conspiracy" to stop him from campaigning in the Lok Sabha polls.  The party called for a nationwide protest against the BJP in the aftermath of his arrest.

PIL filed in Delhi HC seeking Kejriwal's removal as CM

A PIL has been filed before the Delhi High Court seeking removal of Arvind Kejriwal from the post of Chief Minister of Delhi. Kejriwal has been arrested by Enforcement Directorate in the liquor policy case. The plea has been moved by one Surjit Singh Yadav, a Delhi resident claiming to be a farmer and social worker. He says that a chief minister accused of a financial scandal should not be permitted to continue in public office.

AAP workers detained in Srinagar, Jammu

Several workers of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) were detained in Srinagar and Jammu on Friday as they tried to take out a protest march against the arrest of their party's national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

In Srinagar, scores of AAP workers assembled near the Press Enclave to protest against Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in Delhi on Thursday night. As soon as the party members tried to take out the march, police dispersed them and detained a few protestors, officials said.

Speaking to reporters, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Nawab Nasir said Kejriwal's arrest was against the democratic norms. "This is a fight for democracy and we will ultimately win this," he said.

AAP-BJP workers engage in scuffle

A scuffle broke out between AAP and BJP workers in Kolkata on Friday during a demonstration over Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The incident happened outside the state BJP headquarters at the Murlidhar Sen Lane in central Kolkata. With placards and party flags, AAP workers began a demonstration near the BJP officer over Kejriwal's arrest by the ED in a money laundering case linked to an excise policy.

As the AAP activists were shouting slogans against the Center, BJP activists who were inside the party office came out and began giving counter-slogans. The tensions escalated, leading to a scuffle between the two sides. Police promptly intervened and brought the situation under control.
