The BJP guaranteed permanent jobs for ex-Agniveers and promised to procure 24 crops at the declared Minimum Support Price (MSP) from farmers as it released its poll manifesto for the October 5 Haryana Assembly elections in Rohtak on Thursday (September 19).

Union minister and BJP chief JP Nadda released the manifesto in presence of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Ministers ML Khattar, senior party leaders Rao Inderjit Singh and KP Gurjar.

Focus on welfare, jobs

Eyeing its third straight term in the northern state, the ruling BJP has announced a series of 20 promises ahead of the upcoming Haryana polls, focusing on welfare, employment, and infrastructure.

Under the Laado Laxmi Yojana, the party promises to provide Rs 2,100 per month to all women, along with the construction of 10 industrial cities aimed at creating jobs for 50,000 locals per city. Among the party’s other commitments are guaranteed government jobs for 2 lakh locals and additional employment opportunities for 5 lakh individuals under the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme.

The BJP has also promised a slew of healthcare initiatives. The Chirayu-Ayushman Yojana will extend free treatment up to Rs 10 lakh for each family, with additional coverage of Rs 5 lakh for elderly members above 70. Dialysis in government hospitals and free diagnosis in all hospitals are also part of the healthcare plan. The party also promised to facilitate LPG cylinders for Rs 500 under the Har Ghar Grihani Yojana and a hike in all social monthly pensions based on scientific formula linking DA and pensions

The party also promised scholarship for Haryana students belonging to OBC, SC communities in any government medical or engineering college across the country and scooters for college-going girls in rural areas.

The BJP also promised loans up to Rs 25 lakh for all OBC category entrepreneurs, in addition to the Mudra Scheme. The party promised to develop an international level Aravalli Jungle Safari Park in South Haryana.

‘Transformed Haryana’

Nadda said Haryana has marched on the path of progress under the BJP rule in the last 10 years. “You will clearly see Haryana has changed and the difference is visible,” he said referring to corruption and scams which allegedly took during previous regimes.

“What was the image of Haryana 10 years back? Jobs existed only on paper. We acted against those indulging in corruption. The state was earlier known for land scams. We should look into these facts while discussing manifestos of different parties. Hence, when we talk of manifesto, I want to say that we are doing non-stop work,” said Nadda.

Nadda also said that the BJP government is committed to establishing up to 10 industrial cities modelled after the industrial model township in Kharkhoda.
