A 28-year-old woman, who is a local singer, was gang-raped by three young men in Patna’s Ram Krishna Nagar area, on Friday (May 6) night. This is the third such incident reported within a month.
According to the rape survivor’s statement, Pintu Kumar, Sanjiv Kumar and Karu Kumar booked her for a marriage function since she performs in birthdays, weddings and cultural functions. However, when she reached the marriage hall, she was shocked to find that there was no function.
At gunpoint, the accused persons dragged her inside a room and raped her one by one. “They also captured the rape incident on the mobile phone,” the victim said in the complaint.

Somehow, the survivor said that she managed to escape from them and locked herself in another room. And, immediately, contacted the police control room and informed them about the incident. The police from the Ram Krishna Nagar police station quickly arrived on the crime scene and rescued the victim. The three accused were arrested and a country made Katta and three dead cartridges were recovered from them.
The medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape. The accused were booked under section of 376 D (gangrape) of the IPC and section 34 (criminal conspiracy) arms act and other relevant sections of IPC, Ranjan said.
At the end of April, a 38-year-old woman was gang-raped by three men in Patna, after she was brought to a rented apartment on the pretext of offering her a job as a maid. A few days earlier, in a shocking incident, two sisters, one 14 years and the other 16 years old, were raped by two youths at gunpoint in Phulwarisharif area in Patna, when they had gone out into the fields to defecate.
