Rajinikanth discharged from hospital; no major health issues found

A day after superstar Rajinikanth was hospitalised in Hyderabad due to "severe fluctuations in blood pressure", Apollo Hospitals said in a media bulletin, on Saturday (December 26), that doctors had found no major health problems with him


Tamil superstar Rajinikanth was discharged from Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad after doctors found no major health issues.

He was admitted to the hospital on Friday due to ‘severe fluctuations in blood pressure,’ Apollo Hospitals said in a media bulletin, on Saturday (December 26). The doctors had on Saturday stated that they were waiting for some more investigative reports before they decided on the next course of action.

“All the investigation reports have come in and there is nothing alarming in the reports,” a media bulletin said.

The actor was shooting for his upcoming film, ‘Annaatthe’ in Hyderabad. The shooting was postponed after four crew members had tested positive for COVID-19. However, Rajinikanth had tested negative for COVID-19 on December 22 but he isolated himself and was monitored closely.

The hospital observed that though Rajinikanth showed no symptoms of COVID-19, he was admitted there so that his BP could be monitored.

The actor had announced in November that he would be joining politics. According to sources, Rajinikanth is supposed to officially announce his party’s launch in January.

Meanwhile, wishes for the actor’s speedy recovery came pouring in. Kamal Haasan tweeted: “Wishes for Rajinikanth’s speedy recovery.”  Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami had called and spoken to Rajinikanth and wished him a speedy recovery as well.
