PM Modi to address nation at 10 am on April 14

The Prime Minister’s Office said on Monday on Twitter that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on April 14 at 10 am.


The Prime Minister’s Office said on Monday (April 13) on Twitter that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation on April 14 at 10 am.

It is widely anticipated that Modi might announce the extension of the nationwide lockdown after requests from several states to extend it in order to control the spread of COVID-19.

The lockdown was initially scheduled to end on April 14. However, there are speculations that it might now be extended till April 30, with measures implemented to help the economy recover.

Chief ministers of various states had sought the continuation of the lockdown during a meeting with the Prime Minister on Saturday (April 11). Modi had agreed during the interaction that an extension was necessary to prevent further spread of the disease, but had also spoken about saving livelihoods as well as lives.
