Greater vigil, no room for voter 'inducements'


To enhance oversight for an inducement free election, the EC has developed the Election Seizure Management System for real-time updates on seizures, said the CEC. The tech will also work toward seamless coordination among enforcement agencies. It will also to facilitate qualitative analysis and planning.

EC's Integrated Election Expenditure Monitoring System to facilitate compliance by parties in disclosure of their financial reports is also being used. Some parties already started submitting their reports online, said CEC Kumar.

To ensure free, fair and inducement-free elections, awareness and cooperation of citizens are key, he added. Citizens can report any kind of malpractices to the EC through the Vigil App. Complaints will be responded to in 10 minutes, he said. 

For informed voting, all the information including “Criminal Antecedents” of the candidates, if any, is available on the KYC app of EC and https://affidavit.eci.gov.in portal.

Over 940 inter-state border check posts in five states to check any cross border movement of illicit cash, liquor, drugs have been planned.
