Table Tennis: Women's doubles pairs progress to the round of 16

Indian women's doubles pairs had a successful day in table tennis at the Asian Games 2023.

Sreeja Akula and Diya Chitale secured an 11-8, 15-13, 11-6 victory against Vietnam's Tran Mai Ngoc and Nguyen Thi Nga in the round of 32.

Additionally, Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee won their round of 32 clash against Kazakhstan's Zauresh Akasheva and Anastassiya Lavrona in straight games.

Both Indian women's doubles pairs will advance to the round of 16, which is scheduled for tomorrow starting at 1:30 PM. Sreeja Akula and Diya Chitale will face Japan's fifth-seeded pair, Miwa Harimoto and Miyuu Kihara, while Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee will take on Thailand's Wanwisa Aueawiriyayothin and Jinnipa Sawettabut.
