Full list of COVID restrictions in Maharashtra

As a second wave of COVID-19 infections washes over Maharashtra, the state government has imposed a series of restrictions to protect lives. Schools, businesses and places of worship are shut; curfews have been imposed and people asked to stay home.

Maharashtra continues to report the highest number of COVID infections in the country. On Friday there were 8,333 cases; in the past two weeks the state has seen the biggest rise in active cases – from 34,449 on February 14 to 68,810 currently.

As of Friday evening, Maharashtra had a caseload of 21.38 lakh, with 52,041 deaths.

In view of the worsening situation, several restrictions have been declared in the worst-affected areas. Since February 22, social and political gatherings have been barred across the state, including Mumbai.

Here is the full list of restrictions in the state:

Mumbai

As per BMC guidelines, only 50 people are allowed at any one social gathering.

Pune

Schools and colleges will remain shut till February 28. The government has also imposed a night curfew (11pm to 6am) during which public movement is restricted.

Nashik

The government imposed night curfew (11pm to 5am) on February 22. The order is effective until further notice.

Latur

The administration has implemented Janata curfew on February 27 and 28. All services except essentials are shut.

Amravati

A strict lockdown is in force in Amaravati, one of the worst affected districts. Only essential services are open. Cinemas, gyms, swimming pools and parks are shut. Gatherings for entertainment, educational, cultural and religious are not permitted.

Yavatmal

The administration ordered a 10-day lockdown on February 18.

Parbhani

The administration has closed places of worship. The authorities have also restricted travellers from 11 districts of Vidarbha from coming to Parbhani.

Jalna

All educational institutions are closed, so is the Shri Rajur Ganpati Temple.

Aurangabad

Night curfew, effective 11pm to 6am, till March 8.
