BJP leader and Madhya Pradesh cabinet minister Narottam Mishra said on Thursday (February 11) that his government will ensure that Bollywood actor Kangana Ranaut faces no problem while shooting for her film Dhaakad.

The statement came after Congress leaders said they would not allow the shooting to proceed unless the actor apologises for her comments on protesting farmers.

Mishra said state Congress chief Kamal Nath should dissuade his party workers from disrupting the shoot.

“I had a telephonic talk with the Betul superintendent of police. Law will take its own course and will be adhered to. I am trying to contact behan-beti [sister and daughter] Kangana. She won’t face any problem,” he said.

State Congress Sewa Dal secretary Manoj Arya and Chicholi Block Congress Committee president Nekram Yadav submitted a memorandum on Wednesday (February 10) to the tehsildar in Betul district, stating that if Ranaut does not apologise by Friday (February 12) evening, they would disrupt the shoot.

Ranaut had maligned farmers, the Congress leaders alleged.

Twitter had recently deleted some of Ranaut’s controversial tweets over the farmers’ protest.
