Fringe Hindu outfit organises ‘yagna’ ahead of Trump-Modi talks

Members of Hindu Sena, a fringe Hindu outfit, on Monday organised a ‘yagna’ at Jantar Mantar ahead of talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting US President Donald Trump. The US president arrived in Ahmedabad on Monday afternoon and visited the Sabarmati Ashram along with his wife Melania.

Members of Hindu Sena, a fringe Hindu outfit, on Monday (February 24) organised a ‘yagna’ at Jantar Mantar ahead of talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting US President Donald Trump.

The US president arrived in Ahmedabad on Monday afternoon on a two-day visit. Subsequently, he visited the Sabarmati Ashram along with wife Melania and Prime Minister Modi. Thereafter, he addressed a gathering at the ‘Namaste Trump’ event held at Sardar Patel stadium in Motera.

“We performed the rituals to seek blessings for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Trump as they begin their talks and to pray that they can work together to eradicate terrorism,” said Hindu Sena chief Vishnu Gupta.

Meanwhile, members of various Left outfits and women’s groups protested a few metres away at the same venue against Trump’s visit, saying it does not augur well for India.
