After Kangana flight chaos, DGCA warns against in-flight photography

In a strict warning after the chaos in a flight that had actor Kangana Ranaut as passenger, aviation regulator DGCA on Saturday (September 12) said it’d suspend a scheduled flight for two weeks if anyone is found doing photography inside it.

“It has been decided that from now on, in case any violation (photography) occurs on any scheduled passenger aircraft – the schedule of flight for that particular route shall be suspended for a period of two weeks from the next day (of the incident),” said the DGCA order on Saturday (September 12).

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA)’s statement comes after a video showed mediapersons allegedly violating in-flight protocols in IndiGo’s Chandigarh-Mumbai flight on Wednesday. Kangana Ranaut was a passenger on the flight.

The regulator has asked IndiGo to take “appropriate action” over the alleged violation of safety and social distancing protocols.

According to a video of the incident that took place inside the IndiGo flight, reporters and cameramen were jostling and bunching up to get a comment from Ranaut, who was sitting in one of the front rows of the plane.
