IPL 2023 auction: Curran, Green, Stokes shatter records in Kochi
Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the IPL 2023 players’ auction in Kochi. As many as 405 players will go under the hammer in this mini-auction. All 10 teams will be looking to make smart buys today (December 23).

In the auction, a total of 80 players including 29 overseas cricketers, were sold, and ₹167 crore was spent by the franchises. Each team has to have a minimum of 18 players in the squad and the maximum is 25.

England all-rounder Sam Curran became the most expensive player in the history of IPL as Punjab Kings (PBKS) bought him for ₹18.5 crore.
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green too was a record buy at ₹17.5 crore by Mumbai Indians. Another all-rounder who went for big money was Ben Stokes (England) for ₹16.25 crore, bought by Chennai Super Kings.
