Suriya’s Soorarai Pottru leaked online ahead of OTT release in India

Suriya-starrer Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru was leaked online by a piracy website ahead of the film’s India release on an OTT platform on Thursday (November 12).

Suriya-starrer Tamil movie Soorarai Pottru was leaked online by a piracy website ahead of the film’s India release on an OTT platform on Thursday (November 12).

Soorarai Pottru was also available on the messaging application Telegram on Wednesday night itself, according to reports. Amazon Prime Video had earlier released the film in a few countries ahead of its India release.

According to The News Minute, “Around 9 pm on Wednesday, several internet users took to Twitter to report that the film was already out. With Amazon Prime streaming the movie earlier in a few select countries, the movie had been downloaded and was available on a piracy website by 9.30 pm. It further made the rounds on Telegram, a messaging application, where the entire film was shared.”

The movie, which stars Suriya, Aparna Balamurali, Karunas, Paresh Rawal and others, is directed by Sudha Kongara, and G.V. Prakash has composed the music.

The film is inspired by the life of retired Army officer Captain G.R. Gopinath, who founded the low-cost airline Air Deccan.

After watching the movie, actor R. Madhavan praised the performance of Suriya and called the film “brilliant across the board”.

“@Suriya_offl What a fine,controlled, sincere N spirited performance my bro-so jealous and proud at the same time-was yearning to see you like this N U have surpassed all expectation as an actor-& a HUGE BIG HUG TO THE ENTIRE CAST TOO. Brilliant across the board @PrimeVideoIN (sic),” Madhavan wrote on his Twitter account.
