AAP set to rule Delhi with Kejriwal at helm, BJP may improve count

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is set to form the government in Delhi for the next five years after trends predicted by the Election Commission in the Assembly polls show the AAP leading in 63 constituencies against the BJP, which is predicted to be leading in 7.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, while addressing a gathering, began his thank-you speech with, “Dilliwaalon (Delhites), I love you.”

“I thank the people of Delhi for reposing their faith in AAP for the third time. This the victory of the people who consider me as their son and voted for us. For every family that got 24-hour electricity, water, and education,” he said.

He also asserted that this was the beginning of a “new kind of politics”. “The people of Delhi have given us a new kind of politics – the politics of kaam (work),” he said.

Kejriwal gave credit to Lord Hanuman too for the party’s victory. He said, “This is the day of Lord Hanuman who has blessed the people of Delhi. We pray that Hanuman Ji keeps showing the right path to us so that we continue to serve people for the next five years.”
