103 people test positive for COVID after attending Bengaluru party
About 100 people living in an apartment in Bengaluru tested positive for COVID-19 after a get-together on February 4.
More than 100 people tested positive for COVID-19 following a party in a housing complex in Bengaluru February 4.
The municipality confirmed that 103 out of approximately 1,000 people in Bommanahalli complex tested positive. Ninety-six of them are more than 60 years old. One resident has been admitted to the hospital while others have been quarantined. The municipality has intensified contact tracing.
Samples have been sent to the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro-Sciences (NIMHANS) for genome sequencing so that the health authorities can know the variant of the virus. However, preliminary investigations show none of them has any immediate foreign travel history.

Municipal officials confirmed there was a party in SNN Lakeview Apartment in Bommanahalli on February 4 and most residents had participated in the event.
Officials said the residents came to know about the infection only after some of them got themselves tested before a planned trip to a hill station.

Most of the positive patients are asymptomatic with no immediate travel history. The society has been declared a containment zone.
On February 14, 40 students of a nursing college in Kaval Byrasandra tested positive for the virus.
