The Federal seeks to present 10 recommendations to the Union government on the expectations of the common man during the period of the COVID-19 lockdown.
- The poor, the tribals and the marginalised need to be supplied with ration items without them having to show ration cards or Aadhaar
- Free medication should be made available to the vulnerable among the COVID-19 affected
- Emergency services need to be in place besides ensuring supply of reliable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like face masks, etc. to medical personnel
- A mechanism has to be evolved on how to open up transport services in a phased, yet logical manner
- People should have uninterrupted access to essential commodities such as vegetables, fruits, drugs, fuel, etc.
- The plight of farmers and small producers need to be addressed by quickly rectifying the supply chain that links the grower/manufacturer to the consumer
- An assurance should be made to employees of medium and small scale industries that their jobs will remain secure and their salaries will be paid on time
- Where possible, the government must improve internet connectivity to make it easier for people to work from home
- Open helplines that will assist people in case they are having problems at home which require intervention, like domestic violence or the elderly requiring any help
- A message of social harmony to neutralise increasing communalisation that is affecting the fight against the spread of COVID-19 infection
