The death threats drama to Bollywood star Salman Khan continues as Mumbai police arrested Gufran Khan, a 20-year-old from Noida for allegedly making death threats to Salman Khan and Zeeshan Siddiqui.

Zeeshan Siddique is the son of the NCP leader Baba Siddique, who was shot dead on October 12. The death threats were made last week on October 25.

Police sources said that on October 25 evening, Zeeshan Siddique's office in Bandra received a message threatening to kill Salman Khan and Zeeshan if they did not pay a ransom. A police complaint was immediately registered and an FIR was filed.

After investigations, the police tracked down the call to Gufran Khan alias Mohammed Tayyab as the man behind the threats and arrested him.

Reports said that a resident of Bareilly in UP, the 20-year-old was allegedly hiding in Noida. However, he was taken into custody in the Sector 39 area by Mumbai Police.

Previous death threats, a killing

Earlier, Mumbai Police arrested a vegetable seller from Jamshedpur, a 24-year-old Shaikh Hussain Shaikh Mausin, after he allegedly sent a threatening message on Mumbai traffic police's WhatsApp helpline. In that message, he had demanded ₹ 5 crore as ransom.

In a shocking development, earlier this month, former MLA and NCP (Ajit Pawar) faction leader Baba Siddique, who was close to Salman, was shot dead near his son Zeeshan's office in Mumbai. Weeks after his father’s murder, Zeeshan too has been threatened.

Salman has been receiving death threats from the Punjab gangster Lawrence Bishoi's gang for some time now.
