'Reach out to every voter in next 100 days': PM Modi shares poll strategy with BJP workers
"We have to win the trust of everyone to ensure that BJP gets maximum number of seats and NDA should cross the 400 mark," he said
With hardly any time left for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday asked the party workers to ensure a three-fourth majority for the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) this time.
Talking about the elections at the party’s national council meeting in New Delhi, PM Modi said all the BJP workers must work towards ensuring that the BJP gets the maximum number of seats in the upcoming polls, and wherever there is a NDA candidate, people should vote for the alliance. The PM also reiterated that the BJP should get at least 370 Lok Sabha seats in the Lok Sabha polls.
“Now, it is the dream of the country and it is the resolve of the people to see ‘Viksit Bharat’. The dreams of the country and resolve will be bigger. Our dream and resolution is that we have to make Viksit Bharat and the next 5 years will play an important role in it. We have to take a giant leap towards Viksit Bharat in the coming 5 years. It is only BJP and NDA that can work for a developed country,” said PM Modi.
‘Time to reach out’
Launching the ‘Mission 100 Days’ for all the BJP workers, Modi asked them to reach out to all the beneficiaries of several populist programmes of the Union government and also to first-time voters.
At the two-day national council meeting, PM told all the BJP ministers, officer-bearers, parliamentarians, leaders from states and legislative assemblies that they have to reach out to every beneficiary in the next 100 days so that the ruling NDA can win over 400 Lok Sabha seats in the coming elections.
“In the next 100 days, we all have to reach out to every new voter, every beneficiary, and every community. We have to win the trust of everyone. We have to ensure that BJP gets a maximum number of seats and the NDA should cross the 400 mark,” he said.
“I am not asking for the third term to enjoy power. If I had thought about my house, I would not have built houses for crores of poor people. I’m working for the future of children, dreams of crores of women, poor and youth,” he added.
Eyeing women voters
The prime minister specifically asked the BJP workers to reach out to women voters, who comprise nearly 50 per cent of the electorate.
Emphasising the work done by the Union government for women, he said that the passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill was just the first step in the direction of women empowerment.
Modi said the Union government provided subsidised cooking gas cylinders under the Ujjwala Scheme to 10 crore women. “Out of the 4 crore houses built by the government in rural areas, 3 crore were given to women.” He also said that 10 crore households benefitted from the tap water connections, 12 crore toilets were made, 25 crore bank accounts of women were opened and 30 crore women were given loans under the Mudra Scheme.
“I’m the first prime minister to talk about issues of toilets from Red Fort. I am proud that in the last 10 years, the BJP government has taken many steps to make the lives of women in the country easier. We have ensured the death penalty for crimes like rape,” said the prime minister.
