India to face Saudi Arabia in the men's round of 16 in football

The Indian men's football team, ranked 102nd globally, is set to face Saudi Arabia, ranked 57th, in the round of 16 match at the Asian Games 2023 at 5pm IST today.

India's journey in the tournament began with a loss to China, but they managed to secure a victory against Bangladesh and a draw with Myanmar, enabling them to advance to the knockout stages. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia secured wins against Mongolia and Vietnam and held a draw against the Islamic Republic of Iran in their group matches.

In the history of men's football at the Asian Games, India has won three medals: two gold medals in 1951 and 1962, and one bronze medal in 1970.
