COVID-19 cases pass 90,000 mark in Maharashtra; 50,000 in Mumbai
The total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Maharashtra crossed the 90,000-mark with as many as 2,259 new cases reported in the state on Tuesday (June 9). The state currently has 90,787 cases, of which the capital Mumbai has 51,100 cases.
According to State Minister of Public Health and Family Welfare Rajesh Tope, 42,638 patients have been cured or discharged from hospitals, while 44,849 people have been getting treatment. As many as 1,663 patients were cured on June 9, Tope tweeted.
The current count of COVID19 patients in the state of Maharashtra is 90787. Today,newly 2259 patients have been identified as positive. Also newly1663 patients have been cured today,totally 42638 patients are cured & discharged from the hospitals. Total Active patients are 44849.

The death toll due to the pandemic has reached 3,289 with 120 deaths reported on June 9. Maharashtra accounts for more than one-third of the total cases in the country. So far, 2,66,598 cases have been reported in India, which has also seen 7,471 deaths due to the disease.
On June 8, the Maharashtra government relaxed restrictions imposed due to the COVID-19 lockdown. While the state allowed government offices to function with 15 per cent of employees, it also granted permission to electricians, plumbers and other technicians to resume work.
