Sultry morning in Delhi


Overnight rains in parts of the national capital led to humidity level rising up to 73 per cent making it a sultry morning for Delhiites.

“The minimum temperature recorded at 8.30 am was at 20.8 degrees Celsius, five notches below normal while the humidity level was 73 per cent,” a MeT official said.

The Safdarjung observatory received 3.3 mm rainfall overnight while the Palam observatory recorded 8.9 mm. Lodhi road observatory and Ridge area observatory recorded 9.6 mm and 1.6 mm rainfall respectively while traces of rainfall were recorded at Aya Nagar observatory.

The weatherman has predicted a partly cloudy day ahead with possibility of light rains in few areas towards the evening. “The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to settle around 38 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively,” the official added.

On Monday, the maximum temperature had settled at 39 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was 25 degrees Celsius.
