The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday (December 10) alleged that “BJP goons” attacked Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia’s family at his house when in his absence. The party shared CCTV footage of the incident.

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday (December 10) alleged that “BJP goons” attacked Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia’s family at his house in his absence. The party shared CCTV footage of the incident.

The Delhi police, in a tweet, said investigation is underway. “Based on complaint by Sh. C. Arvind, Secretary to Dy. CM Delhi, a proper offence has been registered by Delhi Police under appropriate sections of law and investigation is going on. Allegations of gate damaged/broken are incorrect @LtGovDelhi @CPDelhi @HMOIndia @AAPDelhi (sic),” they wrote.

“Attack on Dy CM @msisodia’s family by BJP Goons in the presence of police who remained a mute spectator. Visuals from CCTV footage : (sic),” the AAP tweeted with a 57-second clip in which a mob is seen entering Sisodia’s house even as police try to stop them.

Sisodia too shared the footage on his Twitter handle and hit out at Union Home Minister Amit Shah. “Today, in my absence, BJP goons broke the doors of my house and entered inside and tried to attack my wife’s children. @AmitShah Yes, if you lost in politics in Delhi today, will you tackle us this way? (sic),” he wrote in Hindi.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal asked: “Why is BJP getting so desperate” and said he strongly condemns the “systematic, organised and violent attack”.

“I strongly condemn the systematic, organised and violent attack on Dy CM Sh Manish Sisodia’s home. The goons entered his house in police presence when he was away. Why is BJP getting so desperate by the day in Delhi?,” Kejriwal tweeted.

In another tweet, Kejriwal tagged Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and wrote, “Rajnath ji, don’t you think that a violent attack on Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister’s residence in the presence of police is wrong? Why is there so much anger in the BJP over the support of the farmers’ movement by the Aam Aadmi Party and the Delhi government? (sic).”

Two days ago, the AAP had alleged that Kejriwal was put under house arrest after he met the farmers who are protesting in Delhi against the Centre’s three new farm laws. However, Delhi Police had refuted this claim.

AAP MLA Atishi alleged that Shah sent “BJP gundas” with “protection of Delhi Police”.

“Attack orchestrated on the family of DyCM @msisodia in the late morning today by @AmitShah – who sent BJP gundas with protection of @DelhiPolice to the DyCM’s residence. CCTV footage clearly shows @DelhiPolice standing aside and letting BJP goons enter DyCM’s home (sic),” she wrote.

“This is a #BlackDay in Delhi’s political history that the Home Minister is now using his party goons and @DelhiPolice to attack the family of @AamAadmiParty leader and DyCM @msisodia in his absence from his residence Is this how @AmitShah will resolve political differences? (sic),” she added in another tweet.
