Delhi riots: Toll mounts to 42 as GTB hospital reports 4 more deaths
Four more deaths were recorded in Delhi’s GTB Hospital on Friday, taking the number of those killed in the communal violence to 42. Till Thursday, the toll stood at 38. Of the 42 fatalities, 38 deaths were recorded in GTB Hospital, three in Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital, and one in Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital.
Four more deaths were recorded in Delhi’s Guru Teg Bahadur Hospital on Friday (February 28), taking the number of those killed in the communal violence to 42. Till Thursday, the toll stood at 38.
Of the 42 fatalities, 38 deaths were recorded in GTB Hospital, three in Lok Nayak Jai Prakash hospital, and one in Jag Pravesh Chandra Hospital.
North-eastern part of Delhi witnessed widespread violence on February 23, 24 and 25 as frenzied mobs went on a rampage and indulged in arson. Over 250 people were injured in the clash that affected Jafrabad, Maujpur, Chand Bagh, Khureji Khas and Bhajanpura areas of the city.
Nearly 7,000 paramilitary personnel have been deployed in the affected areas of the Northeast district since Monday to assist hundreds of Delhi police men and women to maintain peace.
