Bihar counselling centre asks husband to divide time between two wives

A family counselling centre in Bihar has directed a husband to divide time between his two wives.

The incident came to light after a woman from Godhiyari in Bhawanipur Thana area accused her husband of infidelity. She said her husband was already married when he tied the knot with her. Moreover, she also accused him of sharing six children with his other wife.

The woman said the husband had kept her in the dark about his first marriage and now no longer wanted to live with her, according to a report in News18.com.

The woman approached the family counselling centre of Purnia Police. After hearing both parties, the centre asked the husband to divide his time between the two women.

It asked him to bear all expenses while keeping the wives in separate homes.

According to the agreement, the man will live with his first wife for the first 15 days of the month, and his second wife for the remaining days of the month.

The centre also directed the parties to sign a bond stating all the conditions.

According to the report, family counselling centres were set up in Bihar in 2006. Dilip Kumar, a member of the centre that resolved the dispute, said his office received 32 family cases on Friday.
