World Cup 2019: Tigers, Aussies to take on each other after a decade

As Bangladesh comes to take on Australia, after an astounding win against West Indies, on Thursday (June 20) in Nottingham, the tigers are heading towards announcing their ideas to make it to the World Cup finals.

The Mashrafe Mortaza lead squad has only met Australia 12 times since their 2005 encounter at Cardiff, where the current skipper himself dismissed Adam Gilchrist with second ball of the match and finishing his innings with 1/33 in his 10 overs. Considering even now he’s the best bowler of Bangladesh and is ready to compete against Australia, his boys will maul over the fact that they’ve come all the way back to square one where they have the chance of downing the champs.

It’s an important game for the World Cup itself. Just three weeks to the semi-finals and the top four seems to be fixed by now looking at the points table. Also, with New Zealand winning their match against South Africa, Bangladesh would only look for the four consecutive wins they need.

It is expected to be a sunny day, however, there are 30 per cent chances of rain here and there. Having shown how good they are against the hitmen West Indies, it won’t be an easy squad to take on by the Aussies. Unlike other underdogs, Bangladesh, once they catch momentum don’t get off-track that easily. Australia better be looking for some tough game ahead.

Australia
Marcus Stoinis has cleared the fitness test and is back from his injury. It is very important for all-rounders to perform well and Stoinis’s return was the balance the Australian side was looking for. Nathan Coulter-Nile is fit again, and now all eyes will be on skipper Aaron Finch to choose Adam Zampa or give Nathon Lyon a chance against a team which has three left-handers in the top order but none in the middle.

Probable XI: David Warner, Aaron Finch (c), Usman Khawaja, Steve Smith, Glen Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Alex Carey (wk), Nathan Coulter-Nile, Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa

Bangladesh
The Big five would not want any alterations in their winning squad. The team is expected to remain the same from the previous matches.

Probable XI: Tamim Iqbal, Soumya Sarkar, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim (wk), Liton Das, Mahmudullah, Mosaddek Hossain, Mohammad Saifuddin, Mehidy Hasan, Mashrafe Mortaza (c), Mustafizur Rahman
