YouTuber Gaurav Taneja arrested by Noida police for violating Section 144
YouTuber Gaurav Taneja, also known as the “Flying Beast” on the social media platform, was arrested by Noida Police on Saturday (July 9) for inviting his fans to celebrate his birthday at the Noida metro station.
He was arrested for violating Section 144 of the CrPC, currently in force in Noida.
A pilot by profession, Taneja is popular on YouTube for his fitness and travel videos. His YouTube channel “Flying Beast,” has 7.58 million subscribers and a total of 1,154 videos.
Taneja and his wife Ritu Rathee Taneja, had through the former’s Instagram account, invited his followers for the YouTuber’s birthday celebrations. Following the invitation, hundreds of people gathered at Noida’s Sector 51 metro station on Aqua Line. This led to a stampede-like situation on the premises and a traffic jam in the nearby area.

According to reports, Taneja had booked an entire metro coach in the Noida Metro after paying a sum of ₹60,000 to the Noida Metro Rail Corporation. This was under Noida metro’s new initiative which allows people to book an entire coach for their birthday celebrations.

Taneja was also booked under Section 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant). Permission for the gathering, wasn’t taken from the local police. Taneja was released later on Saturday (June 9), report sources.
