The date to file return has been extended thrice. Earlier, the last date had been pushed from July 31 to November 30 and then again to December 31. The extensions were granted to taxpayers in view of the difficulties faced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“In view of the continued challenges faced by taxpayers in meeting statutory compliances due to the outbreak of COVID-19, the government further extends the dates for various compliances,” the Income tax Department said in a message on Twitter.
