Actor Rhea Chakraborty, accused of abetting film star Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide, is being questioned for the second day by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
She was grilled for the first time on Friday (August 28) for more than 10 hours.
Mumbai police escorted Ms. Chakraborty to the DRDO guest house in suburban Santacruz, where the CBI officials are residing, at 1:30 PM after the central agency requested police protection for the actor.
Rajput’s flatmate Siddharth Pithani, cook Neeraj Singh, domestic help Keshav, manager Samual Miranda and accountant Rajat Mewati were already being quizzed by the CBI team since morning at the guest house.
Ms. Chakraborty, 28, was earlier questioned by the Mumbai police in connection with the case. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has also quizzed her in a related money laundering case. She has also been booked by the Narcotics Control Bureau for her alleged dealings in banned drugs.

She has denied all charges she has been accused of. In recent interviews with several news channels, she had called it “unbearable mental torture” of being probed by multiple agencies.
Taking to social media, the actor had also alleged a threat to her and her family’s life and sought protection from Mumbai police. She shared a video on Instagram which showed her father being hounded by the media outside her building compound.
She said that she and her family members are trying to step out of their house to cooperate with the investigating agencies like the CBI and ED, but are not able to do so due to the crowd gathering outside the residence.
