Mild tremors felt in Delhi, Punjab and Haryana


Delhi, parts of Punjab and Haryana, including Chandigarh, experienced mild tremors, which lasted for a few seconds, on Sunday (May 28).

According to seismologists, the tremors occurred around 11.23 am but there were no reports of any injuries or loss of property.

Meanwhile, the India’s National Centre for Seismology announced that strong earthquake tremors were felt on Sunday (May 28) in Srinagar and Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, after an earthquake of magnitude 5.2 earthquake struck Fayzabad in Afghanistan. The epicentre of the quake was 79 km southeast of Fayzabad.

The quake was reported at 11.19 am at a depth of 220 km in Afghanistan, added the centre. This considerably reduced its devastating impact, said experts.
