Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt has approached Bombay High Court against actor Luviena Lodh seeking an order restraining her from making any ‘distasteful, patently false, grossly defamatory, slanderous allegations’ against him and also sought INR 1 crore in damages.

The Bombay High Court will hear the case on November 16. Mahesh Bhatt’s legal team has issued a statement on Friday, denying Luviena Lodh’s charges. Bhat’s legal team has said he will take legal action against Luviena, who released an Instagram video, accusing Mahesh Bhatt of harassing her.

Luviena Lodh’s lawyer said that Luviena will henceforth not make any defamatory statement against Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt.

Mahesh Bhat’s legal statement reads as follows:

“With reference to video released by one Luviena Lodh. We, on behalf of our client Mahesh Bhatt, refute the allegations. Such allegations are not only false and defamatory but have serious consequences in law. Our client will take such action in accordance with law as advised. Sd/- Naik Naik & Co. Legal Counsel, Vishesh Films (sic).”

Luviena recently shared a video on Instagram, accusing Mahesh Bhatt and his family of harassment. In the video, she starts off by introducing herself as the wife of Mahesh Bhatt’s nephew Sumit Sabharwal and added that she decided to make and share this video ‘for the safety of her family’.

Mahesh Bhatt’s latest directorial venture, which also marks his comeback, was Sadak 2. The film, starring Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur in the lead roles, was released directly on Disney+Hotstar, but wasn’t received well by the audience.
