Maharashtra: 6 dead in car accident on Samruddhi Expressway in Buldhana

Six people were killed on Sunday (March 12) after their car met with an accident on the Samruddhi Expressway in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district.

Buldhana SP Sarang Awhad said the incident occurred at 8 am near Shivni Pisa village when the Maruti Ertiga, carrying 13 passengers aboard was travelling from Aurangabad to Shegaon.

“The driver of the car lost control, after which the vehicle hit a road barrier and overturned. Six of the car’s occupants, comprising a man, four women and a girl, have died. The injured have been shifted to Aurangabad for treatment,” the SP told PTI.

Earlier it was reported that, as per prima facie reports the accident occurred due to a tyre burst.

Incidentally, the Bombay High Court on Saturday said a tyre burst cannot not be called an act of God, but is a case of human negligence, while rejecting an insurance company’s plea against compensation to the family of a man killed in a car accident.
