The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) sleuths interrogated actor Deepika Padukone for nearly six hours on Saturday (September 26) in connection with the drugs probe surrounding the death of film star Sushant Singh Rajput.

Deepika arrived at the NCB guest house in Mumbai’s Colaba area, from where the agency is operating, around 9.50 am. She left around 3:50 pm, a police official deployed outside the guest house said. There was heavy police deployment outside the NCB office.

Besides, two other Bollywood actresses, Shraddha Kapoor and Sara Ali Khan, are also being questioned at the agency’s Ballard Estate office. Deepika’s manager Karishma Prakash had also reached the Colaba guest house for questioning for the second consecutive day.

Sources said, during questioning Deepika was confronted with Karishma. After questioning, they both were allowed to go home around 3.40 pm, NCB sources said. Prakash first came out of the guest house, followed by Deepika. They left in their cars separately.

Deepika was summoned as part of its probe into the alleged Bollywood-drugs nexus. There were reports that her actor-husband Ranveer Singh had asked NCB if he could also remain present during her interrogation. But NCB had clarified it did not receive any such request.

Soon after actor Deepika’s arrival, her manager Karishma Prakash also arrived at the NCB office for questioning, an official said. She was questioned by the central agency for around seven hours on Friday in connection with the case, said the official.

Karishma’s WhatsApp chats included conversations about drugs with one ‘D’ and the central agency wanted to find out who this person was, the NCB sources had said earlier.

Sara’s name had cropped up during the questioning of actor Rhea Chakraborty, the jailed girlfriend of Rajput accused of procuring drugs for him. Shraddha’s name too cropped up during the interrogation of some persons earlier summoned by the agency, sources said.

The 34-year-old Rajput was found hanging in his apartment in suburban Bandra on June 14.
