Heavy rain-induced floods and landslides continued to affect lakhs of people in Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Gujarat as the death toll climbed to 174 as on Sunday (August 11) and pushed over 10 lakh to seek shelter in relief camps across these states. 2400% hike in CBSE board exam fees for SC/ST students
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has increased the fees of Class 10 and 12 board examinations for SC and ST students from ₹50 to ₹1,200, while the amount has been doubled for those from the general category, who will now have to pay ₹1,500.

TMC sees plot to divide Bengal after Amit Shah says Gorkhaland in letter
The mention of Gorkhaland by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a letter to Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, who had sought protection for Gorkhas in the national capital, has kicked up a row, with West Bengal’s ruling TMC seeing in it a “plot” to divide the state.
