ISRO releases first set of earth pictures captured by Chandrayaan-2
Space agency Isro on Sunday (August 4) released the first set of pictures of the earth captured by Chandrayaan 2, the country’s second Moon mission launched a fortnight ago. The pictures were captured by L 14 camera on board Chandrayaan II. The pictures show the earth in different hues.

J&K parties vow to defend special status, autonomy of state

India on Sunday (August 4) test-fired a sophisticated all-weather and all-terrain Quick Reaction Surface-to-Air Missile (QRSAM) from a test range in Odisha. The state-of-the-art missile has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) for the India Army.
Over 1,000 cases pending for 50 years, says Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi
Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi on Sunday (August 4) said over 1,000 cases are pending in courts across the country for 50 years, while a whopping two lakh plus cases are pending for 25 years. Addressing a public function here, Gogoi instructed Gauhati High Court Chief Justice (Acting) Arup Kumar Goswami to clear such long pending cases in Assam as soon as possible. “In India, we have a little over one thousand 50-year- old cases and above two lakh 25-year old cases,” Gogoi said.
