AAP leader Tahir Hussain charged with murder, gets suspended by party
The Delhi police on Thursday charged Aam Aadmi Party councillor Tahir Hussain in connection with the death of Intelligence Bureau employee Ankit Sharma during the Delhi riots.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) suspended the leader Tahir Hussain after he was charged in connection with the death of Intelligence Bureau (IB) employee Ankit Sharma during the Delhi riots, on Thursday (February 28).
The Delhi police on Thursday charged the AAP councillor in connection with the death of IB employee. Sharma’s body was found in Delhi’s Chand Bagh area on February 26. Reports said Hussain had been booked under section 302 IPC (murder) by the Dayalpur police.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) had accused Tahir Hussain of killing the IB officer and BJP leader Kapil Mishra had said that the councillor’s phone data records would prove his involvement.
Sharma’s family too had accused Hussain. The councillor had denied all allegations and sought an impartial probe. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had stated that the rioters ‘need not be spared’ and being in the AAP would not be immunity for those who perpetrated violence.
