Tollywood comedian Venu Madhav passes away at 39

Noted Telugu comedian Venu Madhav passed away at 12:21 PM on Wednesday (September 25) at a private hospital in Secunderabad due to multiple illnesses. Madhav's sudden demise comes as a shock to Tollywood and the comic artist's fans who took to social media to pay their tributes to one of the best Tollywood comedians.


Noted Telugu comedian Venu Madhav passed away at 12:21 PM on Wednesday (September 25) at a private hospital in Secunderabad due to multiple illnesses.

The 39-year-old had been suffering from kidney and liver-ailments since long. However, his condition worsened on Tuesday (September 24) after which he was put on a ventilator.

The actor, who has been in and out of the hospital at regular intervals, was discharged from the hospital last week. He was also advised to undergo a liver transplant at the earliest.

Madhav’s sudden demise comes as a shock to Tollywood and the comic artist’s fans took to the social media to pay their tributes to one of the best Tollywood comedians.

Starting his career as a mimicry artist, Madhav eventually ventured into films by making his debut in the 1996 Telugu movie Sampradayam. 

Later he featured in nearly 200 films in Tamil and Telugu with his last movie being Dr Paramanandaiah Students in 2016. Howver the movie is yet to be released.

In the last couple of years, Madhav displayed a keen interest in politics and was seen actively campaigning for the Telugu Desam Party (TDP).

Born at Kodad in Nalgonda district, Andhra Pradesh, the actor shifted his base to Suryapet district of Telangana.

The details regarding his final rites are yet to be announced.
