Vijay starts work on new film; co-star Rashmika Mandanna gets starry-eyed!
Even as south star Thalapathy Vijay’s most-anticipated Beast is all set to release on April 14 in theatres, the actor started work on his next yet-untitled film in Chennai.
A commercial family entertainer, which also features Pushpa star Rashmika Mandanna, this film is directed by Vamshi Paidipally (who last directed Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu’s 2019 Maharshi) and produced by Dil Raju and Shirish of Sri Venkateswara Creations. According to a note shared by the makers, the film’s production began with a prayer ceremony.
Rashmika Mandanna, the heroine of the film, who is currently riding a huge popularity wave, was star-stuck after meeting Thalapathy Vijay. According to news reports, she couldn’t take her eyes off him and was all smiles throughout the event. She also tried to ‘take Vijay’s nazar’ at the pooja ceremony.
And she immediately posted on her Instagram account: “Ok, now this feels like something else. Been watching sir for years and years and now to do everything that I’ve been wanting to do.. act with him, dance with him, take his nazar, talk to him.. everything .. yaaaaay finally! An absolute delight.. #thalapathyvijay @srivenkateswaracreations @directorvamshi sir. Cheers to new beginnings (sic).”

The film’s soundtrack will be composed by S Thaman, while the movie’s story and screenplay is credited to Paidipally, Hari and Ashishor Solomon, with dialogues and additional screenplay by Vivek.
Meanwhile, the action thriller Beast, which features Vijay as a spy on a mission to rescue people held hostage in a shopping mall by terrorists, has been banned in Kuwait. However, Shah Rukh Khan tweeted about the Hindi trailer of Beast, titled Raw in Hindi, and wrote, “Sitting with @Atlee_dir who is as big a fan of @actorvijay as I am. Wishing the best for beast to the whole team…trailer looks meaner…. Leaner… stronger!!”. His tweet went viral on the micro-blogging website within seconds.
