SRK is back in business with Rajkumar Hirani’s upcoming project ‘Dunki’
Shah Rukh Khan seems to be back after a long break with two back to back films. A few days back, SRK announced ‘Pathaan’ with Yash Raj Films. On Tuesday (April 19), the King Khan said he will be seen alongside Taapsee Pannu in Rajkumar Hirani’s next, ‘Dunki’. The film is set to release on December 22, 2023.
Shah Rukh Khan tweeted the news. “Dear @RajkumarHirani sir, Aap toh Mere Santa Claus nikle. Aap shuru karo main time pe pahunch jaunga. actually main toh set par hi rehne lagunga. Feeling humbled & excited to finally work with you. Bringing to you all #Dunki in cinemas on 22nd December 2023.”
SRK also shared a video in conversation with Hirani where they talk about the film. The actor jokes that he will happily chop off his arms to work with the director.

Rajkumar Hirani posted a statement saying he was excited to work with Shah Rukh Khan, finally. “Through the course of my career Shah Rukh Khan has always been on my wish list and after trying to collaborate several times in the past, we were finally destined to have ‘Dunki’ mark our partnership. The energy, charisma, humour and charm that he brings to a film is unparalleled and I look forward to bringing that magic to the big screen,” Hirani said.

Shah Rukh termed Raj Kumar Hirani is “one of the finest filmmakers of this generation”. He said he had spoked to Hirani several times in the past about working together, but things never worked out. “I am extremely happy we are finally doing it with ‘Dunki’. We have just started shooting this month and I am cherishing every moment of it. Raju ke liye main Donkey, Monkey…kuch bhi ban sakta hoon,” SRK said.
As per sources, the shooting for ‘Dunki’ has already begun. ‘Pathaan’ will be Shah Rukh’s first release after Aanand L Rai’s film Zero (2018). The film also has Deepika Padukone and John Abraham and is set for release in theatres on January 25, 2023.
SRK is also believed to be working in Tamil filmmaker Atlee’s next, rumoured to be titled Lion.
