KCR-Stalin meet postponed indefinitely; RaGa campaigns in Dhanbad


Here are the latest updates about the Lok Sabha elections from various states across the country:

Jharkand

Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Dhanbad Congress candidate Kirti Azad held a roadshow in the constituency.

Delhi

Congress MP Sushmita Dev filed an additional affidavit before the SC stating that “the respondent ECI failed to appreciate that the hate speeches delivered by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah are ‘corrupt practices’ under Section 123A of the Representation of People Act, 1951.”

East Delhi Returning Officer issued notice to Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia over violation of model code of conduct regarding a tweet on religion of AAP’s East Delhi Candidate Atishi. He has been asked to furnish his comments on the matter by 5 pm on April 8.

A Delhi court quashed the FIR against AAP MLA Somnath Bharti in a domestic violence case filed against him by his wife Lipika Mitra.

Sources said that PM has been given clean chit by ECI over his Pulwama remark in Chitradurga, in Karnataka on April 9, where he reportedly asked voters to vote for the heroes of the Balakot air strike. PM also has been given clean chit by ECI for his rally in Ahmedabad held on April 23.

Kerala

Kerala CM P Vijayan said, “Yesterday’s meeting with KC Rao was significant. We discussed the national political scenario. According to KC Rao, both the fronts may not get a majority. So, the regional parties will play a prominent role. There were no discussions about the PM candidate.”

Telangana

TRS MP K Kavitha said: “There is no appointment fixed between Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao and DMK President MK Stalin yet.”

Odisha

Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik wrote to Union Minister Prakash Javadekar urging him to postpone JEE (Advanced) 2019 online registration by 10 days as mobile and data connectivity has been disrupted in the state due to Cyclone Fani.

Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath said, “Former CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, today, was given a list of 21 lakh farmers whose loans have been waived off and in whose accounts the money has been deposited. List is available on the agriculture portal as well, guess he doesn’t know how to access it.”

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh performed ‘puja’ in the presence of Computer Baba, at the venue where he is camping along with thousands of sadhus to undertake Hat Yog.

West Bengal

BJP President Amit Shah in Bishnupur said: “Priyanka Vadra just called PM Modi ‘Duryodhana.’ Priyanka ji this is democracy, nobody becomes ‘Duryodhana’ just because you called them so. We will find out on May 23 who is ‘Duryodhana and who is ‘Arjuna.’
