The officials said the new outfit TLM was being managed by Baba Hamas, a Pakistani terrorist handler.
The major anti-terrorist operation is being carried out after a terror attack in Ganderbal district that killed a doctor and 6 migrant workers. The Resistance Front (TRF), another outfit of the Lashkar-e-Taiba reportedly claimed responsibility for the attack.
This group has been carrying out attacks for a long time, and the National Intelligence Agency in 2022 had announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for information leading to the capture of the TRF chief Sheikh Sajjad Gul and three others.
