A 30-year-old teacher was allegedly stabbed to death by a masked assailant inside a private school in Sikrauna, Faridabad, on Monday (August 3) in a shocking daylight attack that has raised serious concerns over security in educational institutions.

According to the police, the attacker entered the school through the main entrance between 9.30 am and 9.40 am with his face covered by a white cloth. After waiting inside the premises for a short while, he reportedly asked for the teacher before confronting her outside her classroom.

Investigators said the assailant suddenly dragged the teacher out of the classroom and launched a frenzied knife attack, stabbing her multiple times before she collapsed.

Victim stabbed 18-20 times

Inspector Kewal Singh, Station House Officer of Faridabad's Sector-58 police station, said the victim suffered at least 18 to 20 stab wounds, primarily to her neck and chest.

"As soon as the teacher came out, the assailant dragged her and repeatedly stabbed her after pulling out a knife," the officer said.

Police said colleagues rushed towards the victim after hearing her screams, but the attacker threatened them and chased them away before continuing the assault. He allegedly targeted the teacher's neck repeatedly until she fell to the ground.

The victim, who was the mother of two children, sustained fatal injuries and was rushed by school staff to Al-Falah Medical College and Hospital. However, doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Police examining CCTV footage

Following the attack, the assailant fled the school before police reached the spot.

Investigators said CCTV cameras installed on the school premises captured the incident and the footage is being examined to identify the accused. Police believe the recordings will provide crucial leads regarding the attacker's identity and movements before and after the crime.
