GSTTA honoured Gujarat paddlers with cash awards at a ceremony in Ahmedabad on Sunday, April 27.

GSTTA honours state paddlers with 76 trophies, Rs 3.75 lakh cash prize

Reigning national champion Manush Shah gets Rs 2.5 lakh cash prize. Women’s team awarded Rs 1.25 lakh for their historic bronze in 86th senior nationals


The Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA) presented Rs 3.75 lakh cash awards and gave away as many as 76 trophies in its effort to recognise the outstanding contributions of its state paddlers at its glittering annual awards function held at the Sports Club in Ahmedabad recently. GSTTA and the Gujarat State Masters Table Tennis Committee jointly organised this grand ceremony.

The reigning national champion Manush Shah of Vadodara received a cash award of Rs 2.5 lakh, while the state women’s team, consisting of Krittwika Sinha Roy, Oishiki Joardar, Frenaz Chipia, Filzah Fatema Kadr,i and Riya Jayswal, was rewarded with Rs 1.5 lakh for their historic bronze medal in the 86th Senior National and Inter-State Table Tennis Championships 2024. The awards ceremony was held on Sunday, April 27.

Krittwika is best overall player

The best Overall player award went to seasoned paddler Krittwika who had a prolific year where she grabbed gold medals at WTT Feeder Cagliari 2024 in Italy and WTT Feeder Caracas 2024 in Venezuela.

She came back with a silver and a bronze medal from WTT Feeder Cappadocia 2024 in Turkey. As captain of the team, Roy played a key role in helping the state women’s team win the historic bronze medal at the 86th senior nationals 2024 held in Surat. She capped off the year with yet another bronze medal at the 51st All India Inter-Institutional Championships 2024 held at Chandigarh.

GSTTA acknowledged the efforts of the state’s para paddlers, including Tokyo Paralympics silver medallist Bhavina Patel and five others.

A total of 41 state veteran players, who returned with medals at the 31st National Masters Table Tennis Championships 2024, were also felicitated during the function.
