French President Emmanuel Macron is the chief guest at the Republic Day parade in Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday greeted people on the occasion of India's 75th Republic Day.
In a post on X, Modi said: "Best wishes on special occasion of the 75th Republic Day. Jai Hind!" India celebrates Republic Day on January 26 as its Constitution came into effect on this day in 1950.
French President Emmanuel Macron is the chief guest at the Republic Day parade in Delhi. President Droupadi Murmu will lead the nation in celebrating the nation's 75th Republic Day with the 90-minute parade on the ceremonial boulevard – the Kartavya Path.

R-Day: Self-reliant 'Bharat', new Parliament building, Kartavya Path in CPWD tableau
Bedecked with colourful flowers, the CPWD's tableau in the Republic Day parade on Friday depicted a modern, self-reliant and developed Bharat with models of the Kartavya Path, the new Parliament building and a statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
The Central Public Works Department's tableau was among the 26 on display during the ceremonial parade that marked the celebration of India's 75th Republic Day.
The front of the tableau had a bust of Bose in a saluting pose, while the newly constructed Kartavya Path was portrayed in the central part.
The new Parliament building was shown in the rear end of the tableau. Models of the peacock, India's national bird, were also present on both sides of the tableau.
From women's roles in socio-economic activities to the contribution of women scientists, 26 tableaux rolled down the Kartavya Path, highlighting "women empowerment" this Republic Day.
The Centre has already announced that the 75th Republic Day parade will be women-centric with 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka' being the main themes.

Maharashtra tableau celebrates 350 years of Chhatrapati Shivaji's coronation
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's establishment of 'self-rule' and respect for women in his 'kingdom of the people' formed the highlight of Maharashtra's Republic Day parade tableau.
The tableau depicted Rajmata Jijabai giving lessons in governance and politics to a younger Shivaji.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj carved out his independent kingdom from the Adilshahi Sultanate of Bijapur, which formed the foundation of the Maratha Empire.
The tableau depicted Shivaji's Ashtapradhan Mandal, with some women seen raising their concerns in a court.
The backend of the tableau depicted Chhatrapati Shivaji, Rajmata Jijabai and other courtiers with forts and the royal seal in the background.

Space scientists to sarpanches: 13,000 special guests
From space scientists to sarpanches and from entrepreneurs to vendors, 13,000 special guests watched the 75th Republic Day parade on Kartavya Path.
The special invitees referred to as "True VIPs" included best performers in various fields and those who made the best use of various schemes of the government such as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural & Urban), PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Street Vendor's Aatmanirbhar Nidhi (PM SVANidhi), PM Krishi Sinchayee Yojana, PM Fasal Bima Yojana, PM Vishwakarma Yojana and the Rashtriya Gokul Mission among others.
Sarpanches of 'vibrant villages', women workers of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, electronics manufacturing sector and the Central Vista Project, women scientists of ISRO, yoga teachers (Ayushman Bharat), winners of international sports events and Paralympic medalists were also among the invitees.
