Asian Games Live | Kartik Kumar, Gulveer Singh win silver and bronze in 10,000m race
In the men's 10000m race at the Asian Games, Indian long-distance runners Kartik Kumar and Gulveer Singh secured the silver and bronze medals, respectively on Saturday (September 30).
Kartik clinched the silver with a time of 28:15.38s, while Gulveer finished with a time of 28:17.21s, earning the bronze.
Earlier, top seeds India upstaged traditional rivals Pakistan in a sensational duel to claim the gold medal in the men's team squash event.
The hero of the day was Chennai's Abhay Singh, who kept his composure and raised his game to get the better of Noor Zaman 3-2 in a seesaw decider, in which the 25-year-old Indian saved two gold medal points to emerge triumphant and throw his racquet in the air.
This was after the seasoned Saurav Ghosal brought the Indians back into the contest with a 3-0 win over Muhammad Asim Khan after Mahesh Mangaonkar lost the opener to Iqbal Nasir by an identical margin.
India thus avenged their defeat to the same opponent in the league stage of this edition of the continental showpiece.
Earlier, India began Day 7 with a bang at the Hangzhou Asian Games with Sarabjot Singh and Divya TS winning a silver medal in the 10m Air Pistol mixed team event.
Rohan Bopanna and Rutuja Bhosale emerged victorious in the mixed doubles final at the Asian Games, defeating Taiwan's Liang En Shuo and Tsung-hao Huang with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 10-4.
This takes India’s total medal tally to 38 with 10 gold, 14 silver and 14 bronze medals.

Badminton: HS Prannoy wins in men's team semi-final
In the Badminton men's team semi-final at the Asian Games 2023, HS Prannoy, the world championships bronze medallist, showcased his skill and determination. Weightlifting: Mirabai Chanu finishes fourth in final

In the men's canoe single 1000m semi-final at the Asian Games 2023, Niraj Verma of India secured his spot in the final by finishing first with a time of 4:31.626. Tennis: Rohan Bopanna, Rutuja Bhosale bag gold in mixed doubles
Rohan Bopanna clinched the mixed doubles gold along with Rutuja Bhosale. Bopanna and Bhosale emerged victorious in the mixed doubles final at the Asian Games, defeating Taiwan's Liang En Shuo and Tsung-hao Huang with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 10-4. Boxing: Preeti wins Olympic quota, assures India of an Asian Games medal; Lovlina in semis
Indian boxer Preeti Pawar secured a quota for the Paris Olympics and also assured herself of a medal along with Lovlina Borgohain as they moved into the semifinals of the Asian Games here on Saturday.
The 19-year-old Preeti put up a fearless display against Kazakhstan's Zhaina Shekerbekova, a three-time World Championship medallist and reigning Asian champion, to eke out a 4-1 win in a fiercely fought 54kg quarterfinal bout Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Lovlina, who received a first round bye, used her long reach to expectedly defeat South Korea's Seong Suyeon by a 5-0 unanimous decision in the women's 75 kg category.
Lovlina is now a win away from earning an Olympic quota.
